NZDUSD, YOU MAKE MY HEART BEAT FASTER

This morning we have a couple of big news for NZDUSD and guess what. Its a bad situation. Currently I am holding long post at a loss. These things happen a lot where technically NU is ready to turn but due to economic news it continue to slip down.

Hopefully the drop is not by much since its already in an oversold condition. So I will continue to hold the loss position and hoping for a positive move soon. It may be next week since the news effect really delay things.

For EURAUD, it has enter the overbought condition. Technically it should turn somewhere soon. For today entry for short is at 1.6619. It is an estimation which is hard to do since this pair has a very wide spread and agresive movement.

DAILY FOREX RECOMMENDATION - JULY 2, 2010

EURUSD RECOMMENDATION :
EURUSD?s fall from 1.2466 extended to 1.2150 only, the following break above 1.2466 suggests that the longer term downtrend from 1.5144 (2009 high) has completed at 1.1876 already. Further rally is still possible after a minor consolidation and next target would be at 1.2700 area.

GBPUSD RECOMMENDATION :
After touching the lower boundary of the price channel on 4-hour chart, GBPUSD bounces strongly from 1.4873 level. Further rally is now in favor and next target would be at 1.5300 area. Near term support is at 1.5000 and key support is at 1.4873, only fall below this level could indicate that the uptrend from 1.4346 has completed.

USDJPY RECOMMENDATION :
USDJPY might be forming a cycle bottom at 86.96 level on 4-hour chart. Range trading between 86.96 and 88.35 would more likely be seen. Now the long term key support at 88.14 (Mar 4 low) is broken below, implying downtrend from 124.16 (2007 high) has resumed, long term target is expected at 80.00 area.

USDCAD RECOMMENDATION :
Being contained by 1.0678 resistance, USDCAD pulled back from 1.0673, suggesting that a cycle top is being formed on 4-hour chart. Minor consolidation in a range between 1.0540 and 1.0678 would more likely be seen in a couple of days. Support is at the lower border of the price channel, as long as the channel support holds, one more rise towards 1.0852 previous high is still possible.

AUDUSD RECOMMENDATION :
AUDUSD?s fall from 0.8858 extended to as low as 0.8315. The subsequent bounce suggests that a cycle bottom is being formed on 4-hour chart. Further rally to test 0.8600 key resistance is expected, a break above this level will confirm the cycle bottom, then another rise towards 0.9000 could be seen. Support is at 0.8315, only break below this level could trigger another fall to 0.8150 area.

Forex Signals ? EUR/USD Bulls Keep Pushing

Signal posted on July 7, 2010, at 6:11 am GMT |

Recap: Slow day yesterday, but it always is after a holiday. I had a single-lot long from 1.2500 yesterday (taken before yesterday?s signal, it never dropped back down for anyone to re-enter) which I closed at 1.2600 for 100 pips profit. Bulls were able to push forward against yesterday pushing the pair up nearly 180 pips from low to high before stalling out around 1.2660.

Daily Outlook: I get a sinking feeling every time I go long in this market as the long-term trend is down, however for my day trading I have to go with the direction of the shorter-term trend and this short-term trend is definitely bullish.

We just closed out a bullish head and shoulders pattern on the daily charts, the pair continues to make higher highs and higher lows and we may have just entered a bullish channel.

Watch out for Eurozone economic numbers on the forex calendar tomorrow.

Trading Idea: The bottom of the bullish channel offers some good risk/reward setups with the support currently between 1.2500-1.2530. From 1.2515 targets would be 1.2540, 1.2570, 1.2600 and 1.2630 for 115 pips profit. A close below 1.2470 on 4h chart negates the trade (this is also where I will look to hide a stop).

Beyond that the most conservative trade would be to wait for a pullback to the 1.2400 support with targets up to 1.2600 for 200 pips (good risk/reward setups off this level).

The most aggressive trade would be a long off of 1.2570 as this is the neckline area of the head and shoulders pattern. A close below this level on the daily charts indicates the neckline breakout was false and the head and shoulders signal was invalid.

Who is Willcare??

In the world of Forex, Willcare is a name known to few. I just heard his name this week. He is going to run a seminar on forex this weekend in Sabah. A few friends asked me if I can find out anything about him.

After searching the internet, I found nothing on his trade method. No a single article or picture giving a view of his method. Some people say he is a millionare but for me its no surprise.

He charge RM1200.00 to attend his class and limits the number of students to 50 per class. Last month he ran 8 classes. Lets do the math shall we.

1200 X 50 X 8 = RM480,000.00
That is his income for last month. Do that 3 months and you are a sure millionaire. Simple and easy as abc - 123.

The logic is if you are a millionaire born out of forex why go to the trouble of going all over malaysia and teaching. Wouldnt it be easier just to trade. After all trading forex made you a millionaire.

If you are a millionaire born out of forex, why charge so high and making it available to everyone. Your system claims to have 300 - 500 pip a day. If you trade only 10% of your capital that is a return of 30% - 50% a day. Do the math for a month and you have 900% - 1500% a month return. Thats a lot of money no matter how you look at it. With that much money, why charge RM1,200.00 for the class or money is never enough. If money is never enough, then forex is a wrong place to start with let alone teaching it to someone else.

Anyway this is only my view on someone who claims to be a millionaire born out of trading forex. There are a few forex millionaire and none that I know of giving class with such a high price. I even had an offer from a forex millionaire to learn from him with the price of nothing. Just go see him and he will teach how to trade and be like him and pay nothing in return. Because the money I am going to pay him is nothing compared to what he has now.

About Futures Introducing Broker

How does NFA check up and assure that you are following their rules. NFA performs compliance audits. A compliance audit consists of at least two NFA employees appearing at your door, unannounced, of course, and methodically proceeding to examine every document and every person in your office.

Audits can last a couple of days or a couple of weeks, depending on a variety of factors. Let me say that the length of time it takes to complete your audit is affected by the size of your office and the number of apparent violations" discovered by the auditors.

Also, the types of products traded, the degree of mass marketing, especially radio and TV advertising and the size of the commissions charged are also factors. The fact is, that if you are not ready for any audit before it happens, no good will come of it.

To be forewarned is to be forearmed and becoming an IB without the proper consultation in the compliance area can be a recipe for disaster. I urge every AP considering his own business to consult with a futures attorney or compliance professional before taking the giant step into the world of regulated self employment.

Introduction to Broker Dealer

All About Introducing Broker Definition

The definition of a forex introducing broker (also known as a forex IB) is similar to a regular introducing broker, except that the forex introducing broker will introduce clients (generally managers and other introducing brokers) to forex dealer members (also known as FDMs) which are the firms which actually execute the off-exchange forex trading.

[Note: the term forex dealer member is given to those firms which are registered with the CFTC as futures commission merchants and who only engage in off-exchange foreign currency transactions.]

The Forex introducing broker can be either an individual or a firm; each individual person of a firm will also deemed to be a Forex Associated Person (also known as a Forex AP).

Both firms and individuals will need to through the registration introducing broker definition process with the CFTC through the NFA.

MARKET REVIEW 14 JULY 2008

Its Monday again with Forex entering super slow motion. Last week we saw a decline in USD despite double good news on friday. It is what I call pushing the market. Someone or a group of people with lots of money is pushing the market opposite of the direction of economic news. This sometimes happens and there is nothing we little fish can do about it but there is a good news. No matter how much you push, it will eventually follow its direction. Forex is an economic instrument afterall. It is influence by supply and demand as well as speculators.

Last week we saw Eur and Aud being the strogest of them all. As a result both has gain over Usd and Jpy making new high but the way I see it, it is a temporary move. The main move is for Usd and Jpy to go higher resulting a fall for Gbp, Eur and Aud being Gbp will be the most affected.

So this week I will be looking to short all Gbp/Usd, Eur/Usd, Aud/Usd, Gbp/Jpy, Eur/Jpy and Aud/Jpy. The question remains is the entry point. From my currenty view entry would somewhere around last week high.

Happy trading and remember to manage your risk at all time. If you are a scalper you may take entry on the downhill movement. As for me I will take top and bottom.

BACK TO BASIC - THE TALE OF CANDLESTICK

Candlestick is a method of reading the market based on pattern. If you search the net which I suggest you do, you will find a lot article on candlestick pattern. Do your reading to understand it and what happen to the price that forces a certain pattern to the candlestick. What type of pattern you need to remember and how to use it. I personally only remember 3 types of pattern. They are doji, hammer and engulfing pattern.

What I am going to tell you today is a different story about candlestick. A different way how to view them and how to use them. It may not be 100% accurate but it is enough to make profit and stay profitable in the long run.

Apart from 3 candlestick pattern which I remember, I see candlestick as a momentum indicator. Would it be nice if you can have 2 strategy from a single indicator? Like me I use 4 indicator and when they combine I have 8 strategy combined into 1. Candlestick, Moving Average, RSI and Stochastic all put on top of gridlines.

A DIFFERENT VIEW

Imagine that the price is an invisible, self propelling arrow. You cannot see it and surely you dont know where its going but when it moves, it leaves trails in the form of candlestick. If the arrow is moving too fast, we will see long candlestick. The arrow itself has momentum once it moved, so it will take time to slow down and turn. In short, a long CS indicates the arrow is moving very fast and will not turn soon but because forex is influences by many things we see the arrow just turn at certain point leaving CS pointing up or down here and there. Those CS that points up or down is a clue to where the arrow is going.

ALL TALK NO ACTION IS BORING

Now lets see some example, refer the last NzdUsd Hourly charts that I posted on Trade of The Day. Look at the drop when NU breaks the red line. Long candlestick pointing down. Meaning it is at full speed and will not stop. At the 1st correction, we can see that the lowest CS is a bull CS but because the bull CS is shorter than the previous CS, it dont have enough force to stop the arrow instead it only slowed it down. Then we can see all the next correction has bear CS pointing down including the last low CS is a bear meaning price will break the last low but it is slowing down. At this point, it is a very good idea to exit for us technical small fish else we may get fried during price swing.

According to NU charts, I forecast that NU will break the last low of 0.7834 and will make it way to 0.7800. This is because turing point usually happens at big numbers as the last turning point happens at 0.8100. My theory on this behaviour is that master traders that have lots of money are so busy counting money, they dont bother looking at price with small number at the back. So they focus on big numbers such as 0.8100, 0.7800 or the least 0.7850. Those 2 digit at the back is what we small fish are eating but they take the 1st 3 digit. How small and insignificant are we??

eur/usd downside trend

Euro rebounded from levels around 1.3400 due to the positivity of momentum indicators, where it neared the retest level once again around 1.3575.
SMA 50 is around this level, alongside Stochastic gradually losing bullish momentum and thereby making us expect a bearish intraday direction after touching the highlighted retest level, where awaited targets start at 1.3400 then 1.3365. Note that the sensitivity of the targeted levels, where continuing its stance in front of the pair’s descend will help trading return within the bullish trend once again, while the effect of the bearish technical pattern mentioned in our previous reports will end.

The trading range for today is among the key support at 1.3365 and the key resistance at 1.3615.

The short term trend is to the upside as far as the daily closing is above 1.2795 remains intact with targets at 1.5135.

Broker Registration For Introducing Broker

A forex introducing broker (“IB”) is a firm that provides any one of a number of different services to forex investors. Many times the IB will act as an introducing party to a forex dealer/FCM or perhaps the IB is licensing a forex trading system to investors who want to trade for themselves.

Forex introducing broker can either be “independent” or “guaranteed.” The following is an overview of the requirements for a forex IB to broker registration with the CFTC and become a member of the NFA.

Independent IBs are those firms which are independent of any particular forex dealer/FCM and who may introduce to any forex dealer/FCM. Because such IBs are not guaranteed by a particular forex dealer/FCM, such IBs must have a $45,000 net capital requirement which must be maintained at all times.

Guaranteed IBs are those firms which have, generally, an exclusive relationship with a particular forex dealer/FCM. The Guaranteed IB can only introduce clients to the guaranteeing forex dealer/FCM. Because such IBs are guaranteed by the forex dealer/FCM, such IBs do not have a net capital requirement.

IBs will usually have other documents or agreements, such as sales or licensing agreements, which may be with either the forex dealer/FCM or with the forex client. These Broker Registration will need to be drafted or reviewed by experienced counsel.

APPEALS COURT BREATHES NEW LIFE INTO OVERSTATED BASIS ISSUE

On several occasions, we have written about cases where courts have held that the six-year extended statute of limitations for a 25% omission of gross income from an income tax return will not apply when the unreported income arises from the taxpayer overstating his basis in a sold asset. It now appears that the IRS' dogged persistence in fighting these cases has paid off, at least in one court.

In a decision of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the court has reversed the Tax Court in its decision and held that an overstatement of basis is an omission of gross income for this purpose.

This decision is contrary to holdings in the Nine Circuit and in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Thus, the stage is set for a possible US Supreme Court resolution of this issue.

Introducing Securities Class Action Plan

While it is possible that the experience in India may be different, and that investors end up realising better recoveries from securities class actions, such an outcome is unlikely. Moreover, in addition to the low levels of recovery, in the US, most of the settlement amounts are paid by insurance companies that issue director and officer (D&O) policies.

Because the D&O market is still evolving in India, investor recoveries are likely to be limited further, at least initially.

Some have argued that the possibility of a securities class action deters violation of securities laws and, thus, helps protect investors.

However, this may be true only in theory, since settlements are paid by D&O insurance, potentially reducing the consequences to corporations of misrepresentations and violations of the law.

In conclusion, based on the data from thousands of US settlements over the last decade, it is reasonable to assume that introducing securities class actions and introducing broker in India will do little to protect investors or help them recover a meaningful fraction of the losses suffered. More likely, we would see a potential expansion in the market for D&O insurance ? and a proliferation of lawsuits.

Thus, from a policy perspective, it may be better to expend resources to improve Sebi?s capabilities in monitoring and investigating financial disclosures by firms in order to improve the quality of public disclosure by firms.

A well-funded, proactive regulator, with a proven ability to punish perpetrators of securities fraud, is more likely to be a more effective means to ensuring investor protection than the introduction securities class action.

NEW OFFSHORE VOLUNTARY DISCLOSURE INITIATIVE

About 15,000 taxpayers came forward in 2009 in an amnesty initiative that allowed taxpayers to come clean on offshore holdings and unreported offshore income. The IRS has now introduced a similar initiative that will run through August 31, 2011.

The principal benefits to taxpayers for using the program are avoiding criminal penalties, and limits on overall penalties that might otherwise apply (such as near-confiscatory FBAR penalties).

Some key points:

--A 25% penalty will be imposed on the highest balance during the unreported period in foreign bank accounts/entities or the value of unreported assets. This is compared to the 20% penalty under the prior initiative. Under limited circumstances, the 25% penalty may be reduced to 12.5% or 5%. The 25% penalty is in addition the 20% accuracy-related penalties under Code 6662(a) for any tax underpayments that occurred, Code 6651(a)(1) failure to file penalties, and Code 6651(a)(2) failure to pay penalties.

--Tax years covered are 2003-2010.

--Taxpayers will need to provide previously filed returns, and provide missing or required complete and amended returns, for 2003-2010.

--If a civil exam is already under way, the program is not available.

--Simplified PFIC reporting mechanisms are provided for.

Presumably, most taxpayers interested in this type of relief would have participated in the 2009 program. However, within several days of the new program, we have already seen new clients interested in participating in the new program in our office.

IRS SAYS IT IS READY NOW FOR 2010 RETURNS

On December 30, 2010, the IRS advised certain taxpayers to wait until mid or late February, 2011 to file their income tax returns for 2010. This was because the IRS needed time to reprogram its computers to reflect the 2010 Tax Leave Act's changes. Taxpayers that were affected by the delay are those claiming:

--Itemized deductions on Schedule A;

--above-the-line deductions for higher education tuition and fees; and

--about-the-line deductions for kindergarten through grade 12 educators with out-of-pocket classroom expenses of up to $250.

In a January 20, 2011 news release, the IRS has announced that such returns can be submitted for processing on or after February 14, 2011. Taxpayers using commercial software can check with their providers, since many of those companies will accept returns prior to that date and hold them for submission to the IRS on February 14.

Seven Tips About Rental Income and Expenses

Do you rent property to others? If so, you?ll want to read the following seven tips from the IRS about rental income and expenses.

You generally must include in your gross income all amounts you receive as rent. Rental income is any payment you receive for the use of or occupation of property. Expenses of renting property can be deducted from your gross rental income. You generally deduct your rental expenses in the year you pay them. Publication 527, Residential Rental Property, includes information on the expenses you can deduct if you rent property.

1. When to report income. You generally must report rental income on your tax return in the year that you actually receive it.

2. Advance rent. Advance rent is any amount you receive before the period that it covers. Include advance rent in your rental income in the year you receive it, regardless of the period covered.

3. Security deposits. Do not include a security deposit in your income when you receive it if you plan to return it to your tenant at the end of the lease. But if you keep part or all of the security deposit during any year because your tenant does not live up to the terms of the lease, include the amount you keep in your income in that year.

4. Property or services in lieu of rent. If you receive property or services, instead of money, as rent, include the fair market value of the property or services in your rental income. If the services are provided at an agreed upon or specified price, that price is the fair market value unless there is evidence to the contrary.

5. Expenses paid by tenant. If your tenant pays any of your expenses, the payments are rental income. You must include them in your income. You can deduct the expenses if they are deductible rental expenses. See Rental Expenses in Publication 527, for more information.

6. Rental expenses. Generally, the expenses of renting your property, such as maintenance, insurance, taxes, and interest, can be deducted from your rental income.

7. Personal use of vacation home. If you have any personal use of a vacation home or other dwelling unit that you rent out, you must divide your expenses between rental use and personal use. If your expenses for rental use are more than your rental income, you may not be able to deduct all of the rental expenses.

For more information on rental income and expenses see Publication 527. This publication can be downloaded from http://www.irs.gov or ordered by calling 800-TAX-FORM (800-829-3676).

IRS Responds to Taxpayer Concerns About Inadequate Notification on Whether to File Form 941 or Form 944

Employers whose estimated annual employment tax liability is $1,000 or less are eligible to file Form 944, Employer's Annual Federal Tax Return, rather than quarterly Forms 941. An employer who received notification from the IRS to file Form 944 must file the form to report its Social Security, Medicare, and federal income tax liability for the 2011 calendar year unless the employer: (1) calls the IRS by April 1, 2011 (March 15 if by letter), to request to file Form 941 quarterly instead; and (2) receives written confirmation from the IRS that it can file Forms 941 rather than Form 944.

A recent IRS notice notes that some employers have expressed concern that they are being switched to filing Forms 941 from Form 944 without being notified that the change was made until several quarters later. This is causing frustration and complications for employers. There are concerns both ways ? either they are required to file Forms 941 and they file Form 944, or vice versa. The problem is that they are not notified of the change until after the fact and time and money are wasted to make all the corrections.

IRS response to taxpayer concerns. The IRS notes that it considers the timing of filing requirement changes when it issues notices to employers requiring them to file Forms 941 rather than Form 944. In some instances, the IRS has allowed the employer to file Form 944 for the current year, even if it is not technically correct to do so. The key factor in making the decision is the date on which the IRS discovered that the employer was no longer eligible to file Form 944. If that date is early enough in the current year (generally by the first week of March), the IRS will send Notice CP 250A to the employer to let the employer know that it must file Forms 941 for the current year instead of Form 944. However, if the IRS doesn't discover that an employer is ineligible to file Form 944 until past the CP 250A cut-off date, it will send Notice CP 250B to the employer to let the employer know that it should file Form 944 for the current year and Form 941 beginning in the next year [IRS Issue Management Resolution System (IMRS) 10-0001344, Form 944/941 Filing Requirement Notifications].

PROVISIONS OF THE NEW TAX ACT ? FOREIGN PROVISIONS

Unlike the transfer tax area, only modest changes were made to the foreign provisions of the Internal Revenue Code. Continuing our review of the changes, below is a summary of the new provisions, most of which relate to temporary extensions of various favorable rules. For what they are worth (which may be quite a lot to those few taxpayers that are impacted), here they are:

A. The Subpart F exception for active financing income is extended.  The temporary exclusions will apply to tax years of a foreign corporation beginning after Dec. 31, 1998 and before Jan. 1, 2012, and to tax years of U.S. shareholders with or within which such tax years of foreign corporations end.

B. The look-through treatment for payments between related controlled foreign corporations under the foreign personal holding company income rules are extended through 2011.

C. The withholding tax exemption for RIC interest-related dividends and short-term capital gains dividends paid to foreign persons is extended for tax years beginning in 2010 and 2011. Also, the inclusion of RICs in the definition of qualified investment entity is extended for certain FIRPTA purposes through 2011.

D. The IRS authority to reduce withholding rate to 15% on USRPI gains passed through to foreign persons by U.S. partnerships, trusts or estates is extended through 2012.

E. Gain recognition expansion for Code 684 for transfers to nonresident aliens at death and to foreign grantor trusts that were to apply in 2010 will apply only to the extent the election is made to not have the estate tax apply.

F. The allowance of Code 199 deduction for Puerto Rico activities is retroactively extended two years to taxpayer's first six tax years beginning after 2005.

G. The possessions tax credit for American Samoa is extended through 2011 for existing claimants.

Illinois in pilot to aid small manufacturers

By Katherine Skiba

Federal officials on Wednesday announced a $4.5 million pilot program to help small and medium manufacturers in Illinois and three other Great Lake states use supercomputing technology to speed product design.

The public-private partnership will assist firms in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio, officials said.

Commerce Secretary Gary Locke told reporters Wednesday that using high-performance computing technology would ?revolutionize? manufacturing processes. For small- and medium firms, the typical duration of the development cycle for new products will be reduced to eight months from 14, he said.

The money was awarded to the Council on Competitiveness, a Washington-based group of business, labor and university officials. It will be used to create the National Digital Engineering and Manufacturing Consortium. The consortium will use the money to develop software, purchase time on supercomputers and train manufacturers, officials said.

Deborah Wince-Smith, president and chief executive of the Council on Competitiveness, said the four states were chosen for the pilot because they represent ?the heartland of America?s manufacturing process,? where products such as advanced batteries and next-generation vehicles are being built.

Council Senior Vice President Cynthia McIntyre said the money will be used to ?develop a cadre of trainers and educators to go out in the field to the enterprises to educate them on the use of various software packages ? for their competitive advantage.? She invited companies seeking more information to contact her at 202-969-3406.

The large manufacturers involved include the Illinois-based equipment maker Deere & Co., officials said. Other state participants are the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Argonne National Laboratory.

Funding for the pilot includes $2 million from Commerce Department?s Economic Development Administration. The rest comes from private-sector partners including General Electric Co., Lockheed Martin and Procter & Gamble, along with Purdue University and State of Ohio.

eur/usd downside trend
